PROJECT OVERVIEW
ADVISA Icon Set
I created a set of icons using Illustrator for a Green Loop client, ADVISA. The icon set represented three ADVISA leadership courses aimed at emerging leaders, middle-management people leaders, and executive culture leaders. The icons needed to coordinate and show progression between each level, but still make sense independently. I created several versions of the icons and also created digital course badges.
Sketching and Presenting Concepts
I started by sketching coordinating icon sets that represented each leadership level. I came up with four concepts and presented them to the client in a Zoom meeting. The client selected two concepts to move forward with: fire and adventure themes.

Creating the Icon Sets
I then created logo sets for each of the two concepts in Illustrator. The fire set included an initial spark, a guiding torch, and a steady campfire. The adventure set included a directional compass, a treasure map, and a lighthouse to represent each leadership course.
Combining Concepts
The client liked both sets of icons, so we combined them into a set based on emitting light. This included the initial spark, guiding torch, and the lighthouse a strong beacon of light. I also created a version for the client with the icons and course names combined.
Making Design Iterations
The icon set went through several design iterations to create icons with a unique look that still matched the ADVISA brand and existing iconography. The final icon set featured a "shift" where the outlines are offset from the color fill of the icon.

Creating Digital Course Badges
After landing on a final design for the icon set, I was tasked to create digital badges containing the icons for use on badgecert.com. I presented four badge shape options, and the client selected the first round option.

Creating a Usage Guide
After completing the designs for the icon set, text version, and digital course badges, I compiled a usage guide to accompany the final exports. This was to show all the versions in one place and explain the white version for use on dark backgrounds.
The Finished Product
ADVISA was happy with the finished designs and began implementing them internally. The digital course badges represent the completion of a leadership course and can be displayed on LinkedIn pages and email signatures.
